<title>Epidemiology and Treatment Patterns of Patients with Pancreatic Cancer in Germany: A Retrospective Analysis of Data from 2020-2024</title>
<link>http://edoc.rki.de/176904/14032</link>
<description>Epidemiology and Treatment Patterns of Patients with Pancreatic Cancer in Germany: A Retrospective Analysis of Data from 2020-2024
PharmaLex GmbH, Bad Homburg vor der Höhe
Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) accounts for approximately 90% of pancreatic cancers (PC) and is one of the most fatal malignancies. Given the high clinical burden and a poor overall survival of PDAC patients, contemporary population-based data are needed to describe how many patients are affected and how they are treated in routine care in Germany. Because evidence on treatment sequencing remains limited, real-world data can help clarify which therapies are used and, for systemic therapy, which substances are used across treatment lines.&#13;
The aim of this study is to assess the prevalence and incidence of PC in Germany, including the distribution of pancreatic cancer types, as well as to analyze real-world treatment patterns among patients with PDAC. &#13;
The specific study objectives are:&#13;
- To estimate the incidence and prevalence of PC leveraging nationwide cancer registry data (ZfKD) from Germany&#13;
- To describe the distribution of pancreatic cancer types and estimate the proportion PDAC patients within the overall PC population&#13;
- To characterize PDAC patients at diagnosis, with a focus on demographics and tumor-specific characteristics, and assess the proportion of patients with metastatic PDAC &#13;
- To describe real‑world treatment patterns for metastatic PDAC over time, including the use of systemic therapies&#13;
- To assess overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) of metastatic PDAC

<title>Diagnosis Stage and Treatment Landscape of Patients with Malignant Melanoma in Germany: A Retrospective Descriptive Analysis of Cancer Registry Data from 2020–2024</title>
<link>http://edoc.rki.de/176904/14031</link>
<description>Diagnosis Stage and Treatment Landscape of Patients with Malignant Melanoma in Germany: A Retrospective Descriptive Analysis of Cancer Registry Data from 2020–2024
PharmaLex GmbH, Bad Homburg vor der Höhe
This research project is designed as a retrospective, descriptive analysis of anonymized routine data from clinical cancer registries in Germany. The study will include adult patients with a primary diagnosis of malignant melanoma of the skin (ICD-10-GM code C43) diagnosed between 2020 and 2024. The project aims to generate contemporary real-world evidence on the stage distribution and treatment pathways of patients with malignant melanoma in Germany.&#13;
The analysis will describe disease stage at initial diagnosis and over time using the staging information available in the registry data, including UICC stage, TNM categories, and supplementary free-text entries for other classification systems. In addition, the study will characterize documented surgical and local treatment measures, including excision of the primary tumor, residual status, lymphadenectomy, and radiotherapy. A further objective is to describe neoadjuvant and adjuvant systemic therapies after excision of the primary tumor, stratified by residual status, including documented treatment classes and substances such as anti-PD-1 antibodies and BRAF/MEK inhibitors.&#13;
By linking staging information with documented treatment variables, the project seeks to reconstruct clinically meaningful patient groups and describe real-world treatment patterns in relation to disease stage. The findings are intended to improve understanding of the current care situation for patients with malignant melanoma in Germany, provide insight into the implementation of stage-adapted treatment strategies in routine clinical practice, and identify potential areas for further research.

<title>Therapie von Patienten mit lokalisierten und lokal fortgeschrittenem Prostatakarzinom in Deutschland – Einsatz von Prostatektomie und Strahlentherapie -</title>
<link>http://edoc.rki.de/176904/14029</link>
<description>Therapie von Patienten mit lokalisierten und lokal fortgeschrittenem Prostatakarzinom in Deutschland – Einsatz von Prostatektomie und Strahlentherapie -
Janssen-Cilag GmbH
Das Forschungsprojekt analysiert die aktuellen Therapien von Patienten mit lokalisierten und lokal fortgeschrittenem Prostatakarzinom. Das Prostatakarzinom wird unterteilt in lokal begrenztes, lokal fortgeschrittenes und rezidiviertes oder metastasiertes Stadium. Das lokal begrenzte Prostatakarzinom wird dabei bezüglich der Entwicklung eines Rezidivs in Risikogruppen (niedriges, intermediäres oder hohes Risiko) eingeteilt. Patienten mit einem lokal begrenzten oder lokal fortgeschrittenen Prostatakarzinom können als primäre kurativ intendierte Therapie für eine Prostatektomie inkl. Salvageradiotherapie oder perkutante Strahlentherapie jeweils in Kombination mit einer Hormontherapie in Frage kommen. Dazu sind verschiedene Auswertungen nach Therapiemöglichkeiten, Krankheitsstadien und Riskodifferenzierung geplant. Alle Auswertungen werden in Statistikprogrammen wie R oder SAS analysiert.&#13;
&#13;
Ziel des Projektes ist es, eine Übersicht über die Therapien von Patienten mit einer Prostatektomie bzw. Strahlentherapie mit kurativem Ansatz im lokalisierten und lokal fortgeschrittenem Prostatakarzinom zu erstellen. &#13;
&#13;
Zu Charakterisierung der Patienten werden die demographische Verteilung (Alter/Geschlecht), die Sicherung der PCa Diagnose (ICD-10 C61, Diagnose(sicherung), Topographie, Fernmetastasen) und die Klassifizierung der Patienten in die Risikostadien (TNM, PSA-Wert, Gleason-Score sowie Anlass der Bestimmung, Befall Lymphknoten) herangezogen.

<title>Entwicklung von Endpunktalgorithmen anhand von Krankenkassendaten</title>
<link>http://edoc.rki.de/176904/13914</link>
<description>Entwicklung von Endpunktalgorithmen anhand von Krankenkassendaten
Leibniz-Institut für Präventionsforschung und Epidemiologie - BIPS GmbH
Mit § 25b SGB V liegt eine rechtliche Grundlage vor, die es erlaubt, individuelle Gesundheitsrisiken mittels Krankenkassendaten abzuschätzen und Versicherte auf die Ergebnisse hinzuweisen. Dabei sind Krebserkrankungen als möglicher Anwendungsfall explizit erwähnt. Das übergeordnete Ziel des Innovationsfonds-Projekts "OMEN" ist es zu prüfen, ob sich Krebserkrankungen tatsächlich als Anwendungsfall eignen und sich daraus ein Potenzial zur Verbesserung der Krebsprävention und -früherkennung durch gezielte Information von Risikogruppen ergibt. Dabei wird zunächst ein Fokus auf besonders häufige bzw. letale oder für die Früherkennung relevante Krebserkrankungen gelegt (Lungen-, Darm-, Brust-, Prostata-, Pankreas-, Gebärmutterhalskrebs).&#13;
 &#13;
