Treatment pattern and survival in patients with Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma in Germany
Boehringer Ingelheim International GmbH
There is variation in the global incidence of Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma (HNSCC), which reflects the differences in the distribution of known risk factors, e.g. Human Papillomavirus (HPV), associated with survival, and epidemiology has changed drastically in the past decade. This study is being conducted to provide additional context of the clinical epidemiology of HNSCC, analyze nationwide treatment rates for HNSCC in Germany with focus on the different treatment options, the influence of gender, and trends over the years. Study outcomes: Patient demographics, clinical and tumor characteristics, treatment rates and survival. 1. Describe the disease characteristics (e.g., site and morphology, stage at initial diagnosis, sex, age, region, progression, HPV-status) and the treatment of patient with HNSCC. 2. Estimate the treatment rates for HNSCC in Germany with focus on the different treatment options and the influence of gender. 3. Estimate the survival stratified by treatment patterns, stage, location and progression.
